A large crowd, mostly youth gathered to cheer up Shahnawaz Khan – one of the contestant in the musical show X-Factor India. He was in the city to celebrate the birth of his first child born 2 days ago.

Shahnawaz is a singer in Deewana Group , one of the finalist in the famed show broad casted on Sony Television .

27 year old Shahnawaz also known as Bunty visited several schools in the city today, in the evening he also attended a candle light march at fateh sagar organized by YUVAZ to pay tributes to the victims of recent Mumbai bomb blasts. After that he reached Celebration Mall where the artist performed his first LIVE show in front of Udaipurites.

Shahnawaz studied at Central Academy and is the son of Nasir Khan, who owns one of the oldest orchestra groups in udaipur named “Blue Star Orchestra”

The 7 membered Deewana Group has members from Udaipur and Ratlam, all having dedicated their life to singing and music.

The group was selected in the auditions held at Indore, where they had performed on the famous sufi song “Piya Haji Ali”, later the group was shortlisted in the Boot Camp held in Mumbai and finally qualified for the top 12 Contestant.

The winner of X-Factor will receive Rs. 50 Lacs cash, a Tata Manza car and a recording contract worth Rs.1 crore from Sony BMG.
