The Allu Arjun starrer to have worldwide release on December 5 in Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Bengali and Kannada; Udaipur multiplex theatres to hold 14 to 20 shows daily
Udaipur, December 4, 2024 – Allu Arjun’s much-awaited film Pushpa 2: The Rule is already creating waves and breaking records of all sorts before its worldwide release tomorrow, December 5. It smashed the advance booking records of previous iconic movies like KGF2 and Baahubali 2 by amassing approximately Rs 62.21 crore for the opening day. The Sukumar-directorial venture looks all set to earn Rs 250-275 crore for the opening weekend, thus creating new box-office records.
Pushpa 2: The Rule, which will be released in standard, 3D, IMAX, 4DX, D-Box and PVR ICE formats, is the fastest to sell one million tickets on BookMyShow. Overall, as per industry trackers, Pushpa 2 has sold more than 2 million tickets.
Here, in Udaipur, too, tickets are going fast. Multiplex theatres in the city will feature from 14 to 20 shows daily until December 8.
Pushpa 2: The Rule is a sequel to the 2021 blockbuster film Pushpa: The Rise for which Allu Arjun had received a National Film Award. The 3-hour-15 minute film has been made on a budget of Rs 400 to 500 crore and will be released in dubbed versions in various Indian languages like Hindi, Tamil, Bengali, Kannada and Malayalam.
Apart from Allu Arjun, the film also stars Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil in lead roles. The three actors will replay their roles as Pushpa Raj, Srivalli and Bhanwar Singh Shekawat respectively.
Earlier, the governments of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana had approved the makers’ request to hike the ticket prices for the premiere shows and the first 13 days. The actor expressed his gratitude to the governments through X although Telangana government has received flak for this move.
Pushpa 2: The Rule, touted as the biggest blockbuster of 2024, is expected to become the highest-grossing film of the year. It has been produced by Naveen Yerneni and Ravi Shankar of Mythri Movie Makers.
