Susovan Sonu Roy Journey Across Dance, Television, Modelling and Cinema

Udaipur, June 6, 2026 | Entertainment, Success, Achievement: Actor Susovan Sonu Roy lost his father at the age of three and a half. After that, his mother became the family's sole breadwinner and caregiver. She managed her job, household responsibilities and her son's upbringing on her own. That early phase of life later became part of the background to a career that gradually expanded across dance, television, modelling and cinema.

Susovan's first experience as a performer was not in front of a camera, but on a stage as a dancer. He trained in Western dance for nearly two years and participated in various stage shows and cultural programmes. Later, his interest shifted towards acting, and before entering television, he attended acting workshops for nearly two years under the guidance of director and producer Pijush Saha. Upcoming Actor

In 2019, Susovan began working in television with the Aakash Aath channel serial Anandamoyee Maa. The show was directed by the late filmmake Debidas Bhattacharya, and Roy played the role of a Vaishnav devotee. This marked his first on-screen appearance as an actor. Following this, he worked in several Bengali television serials between 2019 and 2021. He appeared in Star Jalsha’s Mohor, Korapakhi, Titli, and Khelaghor. In Korapakhi, he portrayed a negative character opposite actress Parno Mitra. He also acted in Zee Bangla’s Jamuna Dhaki. Entertainment News Udaipur

During the Covid-19 pandemic, when television production slowed down, Susovan also became involved in modelling. Since 2023, he has appeared in advertising campaigns for several national and regional brands, including Holiday Inn, Dabur, Velocity Eyewear, Amazon, Big Bazaar, Spencer's and others. He also participated in the Kolkata-based Ethnic Elegance 2025 competition, where he finished as the first runner-up.

Susovan is also associated with the Bengali film Take Care Bhalobasa, in which he appears in the role of 'Joy'. The film revolves around four friends and the emotional changes that take place within their relationships. Joy appears at several points where the dynamics between the characters begin to shift. The character is presented through quiet reactions and moments of uncertainty rather than overt dramatic confrontations. Bengali Films

Born in Howrah, he spent part of his childhood in Guwahati before later returning to Kolkata. He completed a commerce degree from Dum Dum Motijheel Rabindra Mahavidyalaya.

Over the years, Roy's work has extended across dance, television, modelling and cinema. Each new phase followed periods of training, auditions or work in the previous medium, and most of his screen appearances have been connected to supporting and character-based roles.
