Udaipur, February 6, 2025 - South Indian actress Pushpalatha passed away in Chennai on February 4, 2025. She was 87 years old. She passed away at home due to age-related health issues. She had been receiving medical treatment for some time.

Many fans and well-wishers have shared their condolences on social media. She was born in Mettupalayam, Coimbatore, in a Catholic Chettinadu family. She was the fifth of eight siblings. She started learning Bharatanatyam at the age of nine.

Her acting career began with a cameo in the 1955 film Nalla Thangai. In 1962, she made her lead debut in Konga Nattu Thangam. She played both heroine and character roles in over 100 films. 

Pushpalatha is survived by her husband, AVM Rajan, their two daughters, and grandchildren.
