Udaipur, February 3, 2025 - The 67th Annual Grammy Awards were held on Sunday, February 2, 2025, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. Indian tabla maestro Zakir Hussain, who passed away on December 15, 2024, was not included in this year's In Memoriam segment. Hussain, who was the first Indian musician to win three Grammys, died due to idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis at the age of 73. His exclusion from the tribute segment raised eyebrows among many in the music community.

American singer Beyoncé made headlines with 11 nominations, setting a new record for the most nominations in a single year by a female artist. This brought her total Grammy nominations to 99, making her the most-nominated artist in Grammy history, surpassing the previous record of 88 shared with her husband, Jay-Z.

Grammys Pay Tribute to Wildfire Victims

As Southern California deals with the aftermath of recent wildfires, the Grammy Awards paid tribute to the victims and first responders. The Recording Academy reimagined this year’s ceremony to honor the bravery of first responders and raise funds for wildfire relief efforts. The premiere ceremony opened with a heartfelt tribute to those affected by the disaster.

Other Notable Nominations and Winners

Alongside Beyoncé, artists Charli XCX and Post Malone earned eight nominations each. Kendrick Lamar and Billie Eilish each received seven nominations. Notable winners included Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter, which won Best Country Album, and Kendrick Lamar’s Not Like Us, which took home multiple awards, including Best Rap Performance, Best Rap Song, and Best Music Video.
