In an initiative taken by Government of Rajasthan 1^st International Monumental Stone Sculpture Symposium started at Shilpgram on 25^th March; 21 stone artists from across India and even abroad are participating and would be demonstrating their art work over the month long event.

The symposium which was officially inaugurated by Vikas Bhale, District Collector Udaipur, 21 stone artists would be carving artistic sculptures till 25^th April. Being first of its kind symposium, the event will help in promoting art excellence of the city.

According Vikas Bhale over the period of one month the artists will be given 60 stones for carving their art upon it. Bhale added that each stone provided to artists values between Rs. 1-1.50 crore, while the carved sculptures will be installed on important circles of the city after the workshop concludes.
