To celebrate the Hindu New Year- Samwat 2072, Udaipur will observe 3 day long celebrations encompassing cultural, traditional and religious programs commencing from 19th March.

 

3 Day Nav Samvatsar Festival to commence from 19th March

To celebrate the Hindu New Year- Samwat 2072, Udaipur will observe 3 day long celebrations encompassing cultural, traditional and religious programs commencing from 19th March.

The festivity will be a collaborative effort by Akhil Bhartiya Nav Varsh Samaroh Samiti, Udaipur Municipal Corporation and Alok Institute.

National Secretary of the Samiti Dr. Pradeep Kumawat informed that during the festivity, Mahila Chetna Yatra will be carried out.

Following are the details of the functions that will take place from 19th to 21st March 2015.

19th March

  • Mewar Natraj Competition: 20 teams will compete at the end of which the winner will receive Rs. 15,000 from Rotary Club of Udaipur. The competition will take place at FAteh Sagar.
  • Turban Tying Competition: Kids of 12 years and less can participate in the event. All participants will receive certificates.
  • Honoring Auto rickshaw Drivers: For the first time ever, the auto rickshaw drivers will be honored at the event who have followed the traffic rules and who have contributed to the society.

20th March

  • First Yatra from Srinathji, Nathdwara to Eklingji
  • Second Yatra from Baijnath Mahadev, Seesarma
  • Third Yatra from Bohra Ganesh Temple to Hathipol

All the three Yatra will meet at Hathipol at 6.30 PM. The most significant procession called the Jyoti Yatra will be carried out from Jagdish Temple to Gangaur Ghat.

After 7 PM, Ganga Aarti will be followed by cultural programs.

21st March

Between 8 AM to 11 AM, Alok Sansthan’s 5000 students will stand at major circles of the city and wish each and every one New Year.

At 7 PM, Gangaur Ghat will hold cultural programs, fireworks, Ganga Aarti, Vuran Pujan and Deepdan.
