Third edition of Udaipur Bird Festival was today inaugurated by Anil Madhav, Minister of State for Environment, Forest and Climate Change (Independent Charge). Notable ministers from the State Government and local administration including Gulab Chand Kataria, Gajendra Singh Khinwsar, Prabhulal Saini, Arjun Lal Meena, Chandra Singh Kothari, Ravindra Srimali etc were present on the occasion.
Addressing the gathering of school students, Madhav said that we have a lot to learn from the behavior of birds. He gave examples of different bird species and how they teach us grit, determination and focus.
Madhav emphasised the need for conservation of wild life. He said that in past times one lived in sync with the wild animals and bird but the greed of growth and fast paced life has caused severe imbalance.
Kataria said that they would ensure that there is no paucity of funds for conservation of wild animals and birds and asked forest department to submit proposals to that extent.
A magazine dedicated to wild animals was also launched on the occasion.
A photography workshop is being organised by Canon the occasion.
Chief Forest C0nservator Rahul Bhatnagar informed that one group of 110 bird watchers will go to Jawai and a group of 98 will go to Menar. Both the groups will leave Chetak Circle at 6 am. Forest department has taken the mantle of providing transport and food to the participants.
