A Cycling expedition amidst the Jungles – Important Information

“Rajasthan Forest Department – Wildlife Circle Udaipur” in collaboration with Le Tour De India (Adventure Partner) brings you the 2nd edition of exclusive cycling adventures of Pedal to Jungle.

With a view of promoting Wildlife Eco-Responsible tourism at the same time provides the cyclist with a thrilling jungle experience.  This adventure jungle expedition is specially designed amidst the wilderness of Southern Aravallis of Udaipur range.

What is the “Pedal to Jungle” all about…?

After due thought process and many recce trips keeping in mind every aspect from untrace paths, area-specific flora and fauna, hardship levels, adventure, accomodation, knowledge sharing, places of historical and archaeological importance, tourist attractions and every bit one can think of, “Pedal to Jungle” is a one of its kind event in India.

The organisers do not commit to any luxuries of a sophisticated hotel and delicacies of a multi cuisine restaurant, but of course, the accommodation promises to be good tents at beautiful locations amidst nature.  Food will be traditional with lots of healthy elements.

The total cycling trip will be 220 kms spread through 3 days, strating from Baghdarah Nature Park to Jaisamand Lake via Jagat, a small village with an ancient temple of historical importance.  Day two will be a ride through Sitamata Wildlife Sanctuary and the third day will be a concluding day at Dama Dam.

Specialists from the Forest Department will accompany the cyclists all through the trail, which is recommended to bird enthusiasts, photography enthusiasts and adventure seekers.

Bookings and other important information

Dates: 29 November till 2 Dec

Rahul Bhatnagar, Chief Forest Conservator, said that participants will need to be fit for undertaking this trip and forest department will do a health check of participants before allowing. Only the ones who clear the test will be allowed to participate.

Rs 9000 will be charged per person to participate in the trip. Starting from Baghdara natural park, the trip will pass through Jaisamand, Dhariyawad, Sitamata Sanctuary and Dam Dama forest. Night Stays will be organised at Jaisamand lake and other natural spots. Small hiking treks to Ruthi Rani Palace, Jagat temples and similar places will also be organised. Campfires will organised in evenings.

Out of the 220km trek, 150km will be through off-road tracks and 35km will be through jungle with no-trail.

Objective of this cycling safari is ot promote ecotourism and generate awareness about the region.
