On the International Wetland Day today, inaugural ceremony was organized with a research workshop on environment conservation by Wildlife Wing, Forest Department Udaipur, in collaboration with Indian Environment Society Delhi and WWF India. In this workshop, 35 teachers along with Professor Durve and Dr L L Sharma participated.

During the workshop, Action Project Competition was organized in which 22 students from several schools which include, St Anthony’s, Central Academy and Alok School participated. They presented and explained their Action Plan to conserve nature and our lakes from various kinds of pollution.

Program was addressed by program coordinator Dr N C Jain, Dr R K Garg, Colonel Sehdev, LL Dhakad, Satish Sharma etc.

In this sequence, 2^nd February has been dedicated to the lakes of Udaipur by several events under the program ‘Ek Sham Jheelo K Naam’. Under this program, Nukkad Natak, Paryavaran Kavi Sammelan and Exhibition will be organized from 4-7 PM tomorrow at Fateh sagar, near overflow point. It will be organized by Indian Environmental Society, Udaipur and Wildlife Wing, Forest Department Udaipur.
