Agro Scientists Gather to attend Annual Meet on Cotton Improvement

An annual group meeting of All India Coordinated Cotton Improvement Project is being held at Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology (MPUAT) in joint association with Indian Council of Agriculture Research, New Delhi. The meeting started on 8th of April and will continue till 10th.

An annual group meeting of All India Coordinated Cotton Improvement Project is being held at Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology (MPUAT) in joint association with Indian Council of Agriculture Research, New Delhi. The meeting started on 8th of April and will continue till 10th.

In the meeting, prominent researchers, scientists and educationists from the field of agricultural science took part and shared their vision. Professor S.K Datta, Deputy Director General (Crop Science) was the chief guest of the program.

In his address, Prof. Datta spoke about the present scenario in the field of agricultural science and new developments. While pointing towards scientists, he said that there is a need of working more aggressively on innovative projects to get more fruitful results in producing crops.

Prof. Datta said, “Our scientists are capable for generating great results in agriculture management, water management, pesticide and fertile seeds.”

MPUAT Vice Chancellor Prof. O.P Gill put forward the statistics of cotton production in his short address.

Dr. K.R. Kranti, Director Central Cotton Research Institute (Nagpur), Dr. S.K Chatopadhyay, Additional Director Commercial Crop, ICAR and Director of Sirkot, Mumbai also presented the lectures on the subject.
