Natyansh Society of Dramatic and Performing Arts, Udaipur with joint effort of Hindustan Zinc Limited and Geetanjali Institute of Technical Studies organized National Theater festival ‘Alfaaz 2014.’

A. Raman, Principal of GITS was the main guest and with the special guest Deepak Sukhadia, the festival commenced on the first day with the Play ‘Kamla’, written by Vijay Tendulkar and directed by Amit Shrimali.

The play Kamla signified a story of a journalist who buys a woman called Kamla depicting the fallacies of the government and how a woman is subjected as a mere thing for selling, who ends up being treated either as a servant or a slave.

This play emoted the plight of women and gave a message to all womankind to speak up, per se speak Alfaaz for their right, self respect and independence. As with respect of woman results in an overall development of the society.

The artists who played the characters in the ply were Devprabha Joshi (Kamla), Amit Shrimali (Jaysingh Jadhav), Rekha Sisodiya (Sarita), Abdul Mubin Khan (Kaka Saheb), Shlok Pimplakar (Jain) and Priyanka Kalra (Kamla Bai).

The people behind the making of the play were Ayush Maheshwari, Rekha Sisodiya, Amil Nagar, Abdul Mubin Khan, Ashfaq Noor Khan Pathan, Shahzor Ali (Jaipur), Arun Jain, Chetan Menariya, Shlok Pimplakar, Priyanka Kalra, Mahendra Dangi, Yogita Sisodiya, Khushnuma Mansuri, Neha Purohit, Reena Ahari, Devprabha Joshi, Rahul Ahari (R World Studio) and Vasant Dev.

Background artists were Prateek Parikh, Tarun Joshi, Shyam Bihari Yadav, Vishal Raj Vaishnav, Pankaj Tank and Hitesh Gautam.

The second day of the theater festival will witness ‘Suno Amrapali’ at 7 pm at Geetanjali Medical College. The play is written by Gautam Chatterjee and directed by Sunit Shrivastav.
