ALFAAZ – Short Play competition to be held tomorrow under upcoming National Theater Festival

Maharashtra Bhawan at Bhupalpura, Udaipur will host a Short Play (Skit) competition on 24 November as a part of the National Theatre Festival – “Alfaaz”.

6th National Theatre Festival is being organised under the joint association of Natyansh Society of Dramatics and Performing Arts and Bhartiya Lok Kala Mandal over the coming week, from Nov 30 till Dec 3. Over 150 students from schools across Udaipur will be participating in this competition.

Muhammad Rizwan Mansoori, coordinator of “Alfaaz” informed media that Natyansh had begun the registration process from schools 2 months ago and enthusiastic participation from schools as well as student groups will ensure that this event is largely successful.

“Save the Girl Child”, “Dowry”, “Right to Equality”, “Women Empowerment”, etc are among the themes under which the skits will be performed. Each short play is expected to last 10-12 minutes.

Ashfaq Noor Khan, Director at Natyansh informed that this 6th National Theatre Festival is dedicated to “Womanhood” under which skits, and various other art forms will be staged. Performances will include Story telling, Poetry, Nukkad Natak, Online Photography competition, Painting Competition, full length plays, skits and art exhibitions. He added that the National Theatre Festival has ensured inclusion through public participation and cooperation.

All performances will be staged at Lok Kala Mandal from 6:30pm between 30 Nov till 3 December. Entry to the performances is free.
