More than 100 people who had passed out from the Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), Udaipur over the years were seen recollecting their college days at the FMS Alumni Meet 2012, organized today at the College Campus located at MLSU.

Students from the very first batch of 1985 to the recent passed out batch of 2011 had came down to the campus to attend the meet.

Recalling their days, Amit Pandey and Jugal Mathur, alumni of the first ever batch of the institution said,” it’s around 25 years now that we are entering the campus again; we still remember the CCMS campus only. Our batch started late in February 1983 and the best part of our batch was that in the very first year it self we had forced the authorities to change the regulations.”

“When the results had come out for the first term, more than half of the class had flunked because the examiners themselves were not aware of the passing marks” added Amit who is based in Delhi now and is working with Continental Warehouses. Jugal is also rendering his service in one of the biggest companies of India, Reliance at Jamnagar.

To make it a point of refreshing their seniors’ memory of the institution, students of the current batch decorated the corridor with photographs of the passed out groups. Besides this, the campus was given an ambience of proper Rajasthani culture, based on the theme of ‘Yaado Ki Dhani’.

The morning session of the meet consisted of the informal introduction and games like Hurdle crossing, Balloon dance, Twisters, Add-Mat show and just dance for the alumni’s followed by lunch and the campus visit.

Dr. Anil Kothari who is one of the ex-students of the institution and at present the Associate Prof. informed, “Many renowned people like Jagjit Singh from batch of ’89, working for Southern Asian Operations of Colt Technologies, Himanshu Vypak from batch of ’97, Executive President of Reliance Mutual Funds, Rajeev Gandhi of ’91, President of India Bulls Credit Financial Services, etc. are here to attend the meet. Interacting with their seniors, who have achieved such great positions in their field, will motive students to work harder in their life.”

A Cultural evening was scheduled for the evening at the University Auditorium where batches from 1985-88 who have completed their 25 years were felicitated on the occasion.

Udaan 2012, a magazine compiled by the students was also launched today at the function.

Students gave many colorful performances, including dance, songs, skits, parodies, etc. and also invited the alumni’s to express their views.

Vasudha Rathore, one of the student volunteers for the event informed, “We presented a skit based on college and after college life, depicting how we come to college first time, make friends, preparations for examinations, campus placements, new in job, etc. And there was a special event for the couples who have started their love stories here in the college, one of our professors Dr. Kothari was also among those couples.”
