Animal Aid – Training Program for Police in Udaipur First-ever Animal Law Police Training in Rajasthan Animals are protected by law—from cattle illegally smuggled for slaughter to illegal animal sacrifice to bird poaching—and to intensify police vigilance in animal protection, Rajasthan’s first-ever police training in animal protection law is being held on 7th and 8th March from 9.15 am till 5.00pm at Police Conference Hall, Police Lines, Udaipur. Organised by Animal Aid Charitable Trust together with the Inspector General of Police, Udaipur Range Anand Kumar Srivastava, and Additional Superintendent of Police Brijesh Soni the workshop participants will include police inspectors, sub-inspectors and other police officers from 5 districts: Udaipur, Chittorgarh, Banswara, Dungapur, Rajsamand and PratapGarh. Animal Aid Charitable Trust has brought law trainers from People for Animals (headed by Maneka Gandhi, Union Cabinet Minister for Women & Child Development) and Humane Society International, India, to heighten law enforcer’s awareness of how to swiftly react to cruelty using laws specifically enacted to prevent cruelty. Special intensive sessions will include cattle and camel smuggling, slaughter and sacrifice laws, and seizure of animals from abusive situations.
