A three day national conference, NAILSCON 2012, of orthopedic surgeons started today at Hotel Inder Residency in Udaipur, in which about 450 surgeons are expected to participate. It is the 12^th Annual Conference of National Association of Interlocking Surgeons.

The theme of the conference is, ‘Peri-articular fractures and nailing in difficult situations’.

The event was inaugurated at 6 pm today. Chief Guests on the event was IAS, Dr.Vishwas Mehta, Joint Secretary of Medical and Healthcare Department in Central Government. Guest of Honor was Sudhir Kapoor, IMA Secretary.

A workshop was conducted today at 9 am on the recovery of minor cracks, where surgeons and students present in the workshop practiced with the help of artificial bones.

Scientific sessions will be conducted in the next two days on various techniques to relocate bones without operation. On the third day, 7 gold medal papers will be presented by various surgeons.

Among the famous surgeons, who were present in the conference were, Dr. Subhash Haldar, Orthopedic surgeon based in London who developed his own style of treatment, Dr. Dilip Tanna from Mumbai and Dr.Taral Nagda, Orthopedic child specialist also from Mumbai.

Registrations are open to participate in the event. Students and surgeons can register with a fee of Rs. 3500 for students and Rs. 4500 for the delegates.
