Christian Community in Udaipur observed Ash Day today, which marks the first day of Lenten Fast. Community members gathered at the famous Shepherd Memorial Church today, where they prayed to Lord Jesus to forgive their sins.

According to Leonard Lazarus, Secretary, Shepherd Memorial Church Committee, “Lenten Fast is a 40 day period during which members of the Christian community keep fasts”.

As this month is considered to be a holy month, Christians involve themselves in prayers.

Leonard further added that from 13th April, Passion Week will be observed, while on the 20th Easter would be celebrated as the day marks Resurrection of Lord Jesus.
