A national seminar on ‘Gender Discrimination, Harassment at Workplace and Social Work Intervention’ was organized by Udaipur School of Social Work in which the chief speaker Prof Manju Mohan Mukherjee from West Bengal presented her thoughts on the subject.

A national seminar on ‘Gender Discrimination, Harassment at Workplace and Social Work Intervention’ was organized by Udaipur School of Social Work in which the chief speaker Prof Manju Mohan Mukherjee from West Bengal presented her thoughts on the subject.

The chief guest Prof Vijay Lakshmi Chauhan said that the laws have been made in India for women but the lack of regulation in the society is leading to exploitation of women. For this, the requirement is for all women to join and fight against the wrongdoings.

Prof S.K Mishra, coordinator of the seminar informed the various provisions of sexual harassment act prevalent in the country and said that today’s society is responsible for the ongoing cases of harassments.

In the seminar, around 125 people from Ahmedabad, Haryana, Delhi, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Kolkata, Bihar and Madhya Pradesh were gathered. Prof N.S Rao, Prof G.M Mehta, Dr. Manish Shrimali, Prof Suman Pamecha, Dr. Shashi Chittora, Dr. Rajan Sood, Prof Pradeep Punjabi, Prof Anita Shukla, Dr. Sunil Chaudhary and Dr. Lala Ram Jaat etc. with students were present at the seminar.

Seminar in charge Dr. Veena Dwivedi informed that on the occasion, three journals published by the department were launched by the guests present.
