The final countdown for Audacity- the first cultural festival of IIM Udaipur has begun and preparations are in full swing. One of the biggest events to look out for at Audacity is Beat Addict – the rock band concert by Parikrama.
Parikrama is one of the top rock bands of India and is known for fusing Indian classical music instruments like the tabla and flute with more conventional musical instruments like the guitar and drums. Though the band has been inspired by the likes of Pink Floyd and Jimi Hendrix, Parikrama’s music has a heart and soul that’s all its own.
Parikrama’s single ‘But It Rained’ was featured in “Rolling Stone” India’s 2014 listing of “25 greatest Indian rock songs of the last 25 years”. Parikrama rarely records its music in studios and so its songs are best heard and experienced in live concerts.
The event is scheduled to be held on 18th January, 2015 at 6pm on the Mohanlal Sukhadia ground. With an expected footfall of over two thousand, Beat Addict is slated to be one of the biggest rock and roll events around town.
