-Lokanuranjan Mela from 22nd Feb to 24th Feb

Today on 22nd February as Bharatiya Lok Kala Mandal steps into its 70th Foundation Day, a variety of cultural programmes will take place in the premises marking the importance of this place founded by Padam Shree Late Devi Lal Samar in 1952.
A complete week of entertainment has been planned to engage the public through folk dances, music and theatre. Artists from round the country will present a variety of dances and “Shilp-Mela” will also be held the entire week from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
“Lokanuranjan Mela” will be held from 22nd to 24th February with Rajasthan’s Chakri, Langa, Kalbeliya, Gair, Sehria, Daff, Ghoomar etc., Rathva of Gujarat, Lavni of Maharashtra, Bihu of Assam, Punjab’s Bhangra, Puja Kunitha from Karnataka, Opna from Kerala, Vogu Dhol of Telangana, and many more varieties of folk dances.
The Performers’ Cultural Society will host 17th Padma Shree Devi Lal Samar National Theatre in memory of the founder from 25th to 28th February. These programmes will begin at 7 p.m. at Muktakashi Rangmanch.
Another highlight is the Shilp Mela which will take place the entire week between 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. The exhibition will have art and sculpture for display and sale with beautiful works from Rajasthan, Gujarat, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Manipur etc. TRIFED products will also be in the exhibition.
