On the occasion of the 59th foundation day of Bhartiya Lok Kala Mandal a series of 6 day play and cultrual performances are going to be showcased from today by The Performers – Udaipur in association with Bhartiya Lok Kala Mandal.

Bhartiya Lok Kala Mandal's 59th Birthday CelebrationsBhartiya Lok Kala Mandal, a building dedicated to the art, music and artists of Rajasthan was constructed on 22nd February 1952 by Padam Shree Late. Devi Lal Samar a great artist who was best known as the chief promoter of puppet art in India.

Started as a small room, Lok Kala Mandal took shape of a well constructed building in the year 1953.

It was one of the first platforms for the upliftment of local traditional artists in state of Rajasthan.

The Lok Kala Mandal has published more than 70 different books on various types of arts including music, play and puppet art. Besides being a centre of traditional and cultural performance, Bhartiya Lok Kala Mandal is also a centre for research on Folk Art and Traditional Dances.

Notably, it is highly responsible for promoting Rajasthani music and art in whole India and world.

Bhartiya Lok Kala Mandal's 59th Birthday CelebrationsHonorary Secretary Riyaz Tehsin said that there would be 6 different programs on each day till 27th Feb. which includes various stage plays performed by artists coming from Madhya Pradesh, New Delhi, Goa and Rajasthan.

The following programs will be held accordingly

22nd February – Cultural Programs by different traditional artists

23rd February – Play “Nain Nachayya” directed by Farid Bazmi

24th February – Play “Mein Ekaki” written by Harivansh Rai Bachhan and directed by Abhimanyu Pandey

25th February – Play “tathagat” directed by professor. Anand Masoor

26th February – Play “Menka Sukt” directed by Deepak Amonkar

27th February – Play “Ji jaisi aapki marzi” written by Nadira Babbar and directed by professor Vikas Kapoor
