Bohra Youth marks Birth Anniversary of Maula Ali (A.S)

Students Welfare Society, a unit of Bohra Youth Association organized two day annual event of JASHN-E-VILADATE MAULA ALI (A.S) to mark the Birth Anniversary of Maula Ali (A.S) cousin, son in law of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

 

Bohra Youth marks Birth Anniversary of Maula Ali (A.S) Students Welfare Society, a unit of Bohra Youth Association organized two day annual event of JASHN-E-VILADATE MAULA ALI (A.S) to mark the Birth Anniversary of Maula Ali (A.S) cousin, son in law of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

A number of competitions were conducted at different venues in which over 100 participants took part with great zeal and enthusiasm. The inaugural ceremony was held at Dawoodi Bohra Jamat Khana, presided by General Secretary of Bohra Youth Association Mr. Gazanfar Ali. The event commenced with Tilawat-e-Quran by Mulla Peer Ali Sahab, followed by introduction speech and Manqabat (spiritual recitals) on Maula Ali’s life by Mrs Sakina Bag Wala.

On 16th April evening Bohra Women and girls showed their talent of cooking in Master Chef Bohrawadi, A Fireless Cooking Competition. In which 16 Participants prepared some mouth-watering dishes. Competition was judged by Mr. Mukesh Soni, Chief Chef of The Yellow Chilli, Udaipur.

In Fireless Cooking competition Shakira Paat & HeenaOgna stood first while Majida Okasa, Sofiya DM & Alkama Fateh grabbed the second position.

Thereafter 18 students showcased their artistic talent by participating in Calligraphy Competition ,judged by Mr. Fakruddin RV and Mr. Mehdi Rangwala who later declared Ali Hussain Paliwala as first, Suhail Abbas as second and Abid Ogna as third prize winner, The youngest participant Afsha Mandi Wala was awarded cash prize by judge Mr. Fakruddin RV.

On Sunday, 17th April, young kids of community excel their energy in Slow Cycle Race and Tug of War at bohrawadi chowk. In Slow Cycle Race Rashid Ali Mandiwala stood first where as Amaan Ali Raj grabbed the second position.

In Tug of War 6 teams participated in which Team B consisting of Hatim Kholiya, Abbas Ali Mumin, Zulfiqar Ali Beawer, Ali Abbas, Ali Asgar Ora, Aziz Hasan Kholiya in Junior and Team E consisting of Abrar Baroda, Ali Abbas Attari, Hussain Kagzi, Aftab Hita, Shabbir Hussain, Ayaz Ali Eder in seniors won the match.

As per Nazneen Hussain, President of Students Welfare Society, the main aim of the society behind conducting these programs is to bring out the inherent qualities that students have in them in different fields like Education, Art & Craft, Public Speaking, etc along with enhancement of their religious knowledge.

Curtains came down on this year’s program with the Majlis (religious ceremony) which was held at Vazeehpura Masjid on 18th April 2016 to celebrate the Viladat of Maula Ali (a.s) where winners of these competition were felicitated. The winners in different categories were given awards with certificates. The youngest participant in Tug of War Faizan Ali was also awarded with consolation prize.

The Program was conducted by Arafat Hussain Kader and Alisha Wagpura. At the end Vote of thanks for the event was given by the Program Convener Anwar Sakroda, who thanked Dawoodi Bohra Jamat & Bohra Youth Association, Mr. Shabbir Nasir, Tauseef Hussain, and other members Farhat Kholiya, Mazhar Paat, Sarfaraz Ogna, Nadeem Ogna, Saniya Kholiya, Gazala Ogna for their contributions to make the event as a grand success.
