Mohanlal Sukhadia University, Udaipur is organising City Stories Utsav 2017 on 13-14 October 2017. The festival christened City Mandarins Writing the City, the CITY STORIES UTSAV-2017 will be organised by the Department of English, under the auspices of the office of Dean, Students’ Welfare Mohanlal Sukhadia University, Udaipur.

Participation is invited from University and college students and also the artists, journalists and academicians from Udaipur.Each participant can contribute maximum of two self written and original stories related to the locale/s of Udaipur and its surroundings. It could be imaginative, descriptive or autobiographical or anything.

The word limit has been set at 3000-3500 words. The submissions can be either in English or Hindi. A selection of twenty five stories will be made by a committee of the eminent writers and critics. The writers will be invited to read their stories to the audience.

There will be cash prizes of Rs 2500, Rs 2000 and Rs 1500 as the top 3 prizes. The prize winning stories will be published by a nationally recognised publisher in New Delhi.

There is a registration fees of Rs 200 per story and a person can submit maximum of two stories.

Last date for submission is 10 September 2017.
