The week long cancer awareness campaign “Cancer Olympiad” which was organized by Geetanjali Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) concluded today with a grand closing ceremony and prize distribution to the winning teams.

The week long cancer awareness campaign “Cancer Olympiad” which was organized by Geetanjali Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) concluded today with a grand closing ceremony and prize distribution to the winning teams.

During the program, thousands of school students from St. Anthony sector 4 & 14, DPS, Seedling Modern Public School, Witty International, Central Academy and St. Mary’s School took part. The students presented creative shows to spread awareness regarding cancer, its prevention and cure.

J.P Agarwal, Chairman of Geetanjali Group, Dr R.K Nahar, Vice Chancellor of Geetanjali Universities, Ankit Agarwal, CEO and Dr. F.S Mehta, Dean of GMCH were present as the guests of program.

Cancer Olympiad Concludes with Prize Distribution

While talking about Geetanjali Cancer Center, J.P Agarwal said, “The center is formed with the motive of spreading social awareness about cancer and providing world class treatment. It is our social responsibility to spread health awareness so that the younger generation can be stopped from being addicted to tobacco, cigarettes and alcohol.”

Program Coordinator, Dr. Shankar (Radio Oncologist) informed, “8000 children took part in various inter and intra school competitions. Competitions like Healthy vs Junk Food, Ad Mad Show, Anthem with Band, Quiz and Dance Competitions were organized.”

DPS School remained on top for winning most numbers of medals, whereas, St. Anthony, Central Academy, St. Mary’s, Witty and Seedling School also won many medals.
