Hanuman temples across the city saw a huge number of devotees paying their homage on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti, the birth day of Lord Hanuman. The auspicious day is celebrated on every 15th day of Shukla Paksha, in the month of Chaitra or Chaitra Poornima.

It is highly believed that Lord Hanuman loves sindhur; so especially on this day the idol of Lord Hanuman is completely wrapped with sindhur while the devotees apply sindhur as tilak.

The temples witnessed recitation of Hanuman Chalisa, Bajrang Baan, Hanuman Aarti, Shree Ram Charit Maanas and various other devotional hymns and prayers related to Lord Rama and Hanuman.

In Udaipur, traditional pooja took place at the various Hanuman temples in the city, viz. Jadion Ki Oal, Delhi Gate, Dand Pol, Dhan Mandi, Gangaur Ghat, Fateh School, etc.. An assortment of offerings, which included ghee, clay lamp, holy water, Yadyopaweet, unbroken rice, betal, flowers, dhoop, naivaidya, dry fruits, etc. Chappan Bhog offerings were also presented to the idol.

The ‘Jai Shree Ram- Jai Shree Krishna Samiti’ organized a musical Sunderkand Paath at Prabhu Kripa Ashram, Satsang Bhawan, Panerioyon Ki Madri. They also distributed copies of Hanuman Chalisa and promoted the writing of Ram Naam Mahamantra.

Lord Hanuman is looked upon as the symbol of strength and energy. He is considered to be a deity with paranormal powers and the ability to conquer evil spirits. By reciting Hanuman Chalisa, it is believed that you would always come out of most troubles and sorrows.
