Council announces Celebrities for Punjabi, Reality & Laughter Nights

After a prolonged discussion and tussle over the decision on the names of celebrities to be invited at Dusshera-Deepawali Mela, hosted by Udaipur Municipal Council from 4th-10th November, the final decision came today in a joint meeting between mela coordinators and council’s top authorities.

 

· Hansraj Hans, Rashmi Desai (Tapasya Utaran Fame)

· Comedy Artists Bharti, Kapil Sharma to Giggle Udaipurites

· Singers yet to be decided

Council announces Celebrities for Punjabi, Reality & Laughter NightsAfter a prolonged discussion and tussle over the decision on the names of celebrities to be invited at Dusshera-Deepawali Mela, hosted by Udaipur Municipal Council from 4th-10th November, the final decision came today in a joint meeting between mela coordinators and council’s top authorities.

Musician and singer Hansraj Hans will be the main celebrity on ‘Punjabi Night’ while Rashmi Desai (Tapasya of Utran) will be invited on ‘Celebrity Night’.

Stand-up comedian Bharti Singh and Kapil Sharma will tickle the funny bone of Udaipurites at the ‘Comedy Night’ during Dussehara and Deepawali Mela.

According to Dhanpal Swami (Co-ordinator, Cultural Committee), the lowest tender for conducting the events is submitted by the Perfect Events company. He also informed that artists for the ‘Singing Night’ and poets for ‘Hasya Kavi Sammelan’ are yet to be decided.

In this meeting, besides Dhanpal Swami, Dinesh Shrimali (sub Co-ordinator Mela) and Members of the Cultural Committee Meena Sharma, Rakesh Khokhawat, Meenakshi Jain, Sarika Sharma, Bhupendra Jain, Babul al Ghavri, K.L.Lodha (Accounts officer), Pwan Kothari were present.

Auction of Land Allotment for Mela

Land for the Swings was auctioned for Mela today for Rs 2,521,000; last year it was Rs 1,511,000. Land at the backyard of the Municipal Council Building has been auctioned for Rs 1,560, 000; last year it was Rs 1,060,000. South part near the building of Mohan lal Sukhadia Rang Manch has been auctioned for Rs 460,000; last year it was Rs 312,000. This whole auction by Municipal Council does not include Light and Tent arrangements which gives them a pure revenue income of Rs 45 lacs. This information was given by M.L. Samar (Revenue Officer), Municipal Council Udaipur.
