14 cars driven by the CEOs of some top global companies started Desert Escape Car Rally from Udaipur today. The group is headed by Gautam Singhania, Chairman and M.D of Raymond Limited.

Organized by Super Car Club (SCC), the rally was flagged off by Shreeji Arvind Singh Mewar, Chief Trustee of Maharana Mewar Charitable Foundation in a lavish ceremony held at Shambhu Niwas Palace.

SCC is the first and only club for super car owners of India. It often organizes rallies and expeditions all over the world. According to its organizers, usually super cars like Lamborghini and Ferrari are part of the rally but due to the road conditions throughout the route of Desert Escape, Toyota Fortuner SUVs have been selected as the best suitable car.

A day before the rally, four times champion Hari Singh, Khemsingh Rathore and Club president Dilip Joshi examined all preparations. Every car is equipped with wireless radio. The caravan of 14 cars is also accompanied by one ambulance and two assistance vehicles.

CEOs from Switzerland, Oman and from Indian cities including Mumbai, Delhi and Chandigarh are taking part in this rally.

Gautam Singhania said, “I am extremely delighted to travel across Rajasthan with nearly 20 CEOs. I am sure it will be an enriching experience. I have always believed that Rajasthan is a place known for its rich culture, heritage and hospitality. And with this drive on wheels, I am looking forward to have an amazing journey.”

The drive route will include Udaipur – Deogarh – Mihirgarh – Khimsar – Jaisalmer – Jodhpur.

SCC was founded by Gautam Singhania, CMD of Raymond Limited and Hormazd Sorabjee, Editor & Publisher of Auto car India.
