Nagar Nigam Udaipur is preparing for the upcoming 10 day Diwali Dussehra Mela 2014 which is going to start from 14 ^th October. Points like planning, execution, resources and management were thoroughly discussed today by Nigam Officials and event companies. According to the schedule, first two days are dedicated to programs hosted by local talents and schools while rest of the days, there will be several cultural and entertaining events for Udaipurities. The Schedule is: 14-15 October –Schools and Local Talent Program 16-20 October – Star Night, Punjabi Night, Bollywood Night, Bhajan Sandhya and Kavi Sammelan A special committee is formed for the selection of performing artists. Mela Coordinator Hemlata Sharma informed, “One more meeting will be conducted on 8 ^th October to finalize the names of artists and then we will approach them to get their consent.” For local artists, auditions will start on 8 ^th October from 2 pm at Nagar Nigam’s Sukhadia Rangmanch. School students will present cultural program on 15 ^th October. The program will consist of several folk dances like Rajasthani, Gujarati, Marathi, Assamese, Maharashtrian, Tamil, Punjabi and Odissi. K.K Kumawat, spokesperson for Diwali Dussehra Mela 2014 informed, “Those schools who could not submit their consent due to holidays can now send details of their students and the program they are going to present.”
