In a one day health camp at Hotel Vishnupriya, Udaipur organised by Dr. Bharat Patel M.S (Ortho), Joint Replacement Surgeon from Ahmedabad, many people took consultations on various diseases related to bone and joints. Dr. Bharat shared his expertize on Arthritis.

Today, this health camp started at 8 AM to 1 PM in which Dr.Patel met individuals suffering from Knee Pain, Back Pain, Age Related Diseases, Hypertrophy, etc. He also discussed on precautions before and after Joint Replacements.

In his interaction with local media after the camp, he briefed on how one can avoid Arthritis in the initial stages and the use of advance technology in Knee Replacement operations. He added that the best quality artificial knee can work in the human body for around 25 years.

Dr. Patel brought out the concern that at present around 18 crore Indians are affected by Arthritis, which is likely double by 2030, adding that disease can be broadly divided into 3 phases. In the first phase, the patient is treated with medicines and exercise, in the second phase patients suffers from severe pain in joints and cannot fold joints, are treated by injecting Arthroscopic Debridement & Chondroplasty with help of telescope.

While patients of third phase have to undergo Knee replacement, as in this phase pain is very severe and is unbearable for the patient.
