Long awaited Dussehra and Deepawali Mela started off today with a grand opening ceremony and amazing fireworks.

The Administrative building of the Nagar Parishad, beautifully decorated with vibrant lights, looked wonderful. The Mela was inaugurated by Gulab Chand Katariya, MLA (Udaipur, city). The Chief Guest of the program was Bhanu Kumar Shastri, Ex-President of the Khadi and Gram Udhyog Board.

Special Guests in the inauguration ceremony were Divisional Commissioner Subodh Agarwal, Income-tax Deputy Commissioner Roli Agarwal, BJP (City) President Dinesh Bhatt, Ex-MLA Shanti lal Chaplot.

Rajni Dangi welcomed, and also escorted the guests to the Mela.

Udaipurites in huge numbers gathered to see the Mela, mostly the children were seen enjoying the swings and magic shows, and having fast food of their own choice.

Program started with offering prayers to Devi Saraswati and with Ganesh Vandna. While in the program, Krishna Lila and Vande Matram group song stole the show.

Along with the guests, Commissioner MCU Satya Narayan Acharya, all the councilors including Dhanpal Swami, President of the Cultural Committee MCU, K.K. Kumawat, Kiran Jain, Archana Sharma and other renowned dignitaries of Udaipur were present in the program.
