To promote the importance of election and voting, Election Commission has introduced ‘Rainbow Week’ in which several theme based programs will be held to promote and aware people about voting in the upcoming Lok Sabha Election.

To promote the importance of election and voting, Election Commission has introduced ‘Rainbow Week’ in which several theme based programs will be held to promote and aware people about voting in the upcoming Lok Sabha Election.

A meeting for the same was held at Zila Parishad, where representatives of more than 40 business associations understood the concept and its motive.

Chief Planning Officer, Sudhir Dave informed, “The Rainbow Week will start from 9th April and will continue till 15th April. Every day there will be a different program scheduled like Bike Rally, Rangoli, Mahila March Rally, Candle March, Vote Marathon, Human Chain and Taking oath for vote etc.”

“Other than business associations of the city, many student groups and government employees are also assisting in making this awareness campaign successful,” said Dave.

“Every day there will be a new event and every event will be theme based, like Bike Rally will be based on violet color theme, Indigo for Rangoli, Green for Candle March and Yellow for Vote Marathon.”
