The second day of IIM Udaipur’s cultural extravaganza- Audacity sponsored by Bank of Baroda-continued on the 31st of January. With a slew of events lined up to excite the local students of the city of Udaipur, the theme “Let’s Retro” ran through the veins of the guests; as was seen through their attire and thus emanated a similar aura throughout the campus.

The returning crowds were still buzzing about the beautiful sights of the previous day’s which usually revolved around the gorgeous Miss India 2014- Koyal Rana.

The campus princess event was the most watched event gathering huge crowds to cheer the participants of their individual colleges. IIM Udaipur saw 2 of their very own students taking part in the event but in the end RoshniPanchal from BN College was victorious. She has the unique pleasure of receiving 3 month training in Mumbai to prepare for the next Miss India competition. The events in the evening were inaugurated with a lamp lighting ceremony by SK Srivastav, Deputy General Manager, Udaipur Region and SidharthaSihag, Commissioner of Municipal Corporation, Udaipur.The stage was then shared by the classical performers of SPIC MACAY with Pt.Shubhendra Rao along with band of instrumentalists who mesmerized the audiences with their beautiful tunes.

As the registration desk got busy and the coupon counters started ringing their coffers the 2nd day set off with a bang. Inside the academic building rang the sounds of school children arriving for a debate organized by the social responsibility club- Prayatna and the Public Speaking club- SilverTongues as part of the outreach program of the college. The children spoke about the social issues prevailing in the city and the need for awakening in the society. Simultaneously the auditions began for the dance competitions. The finalists were selected by judges who are amongst the best dancers of Udaipur and contributed significantly in praise as well as knowledge to the eager participants. The selected dancers performed again for the judges in the final round where winners were selected for both solo dance as well as for the duet. This was followed by DeMystify – a city-wide amazing race styled event in which 7 teams competed head to head for winning the trophy. In parallel, Chef – e- Udaipur, a master chef styled cooking competition sponsored by The Yellow Chillies, Udaipur was conducted at thecampus. Scores of other events like Music, Arts and Photography workshops, Antakshari, Rap Assault, and Street Play attracted the participants and the audience. The evening would be headlined with mesmerizing performance by the band Euphoria.

One of IIM Udaipur’s 3 pillars as set by the director instills the importance of entrepreneurship into the students. Testament to this, the first start-up of the batch of 2015-17 was launched in the annual cultural fest by an hour long bike stunt show named Nitro Carnival. The startup is an online bike rental portal, www.ikerz.com which will start operations in Delhi and will soon be launched in Udaipur. This intends to be a one of a kind venture and intends to step ahead of the curve and capture a dormant market.

Audacity 2016 was a huge hit among the crowds of Udaipur with over 1400 registrations on the first day itself and several more added to the list on the second.
