‘Yamraj on Leave’ – a satire to demonstrate the present crises in the country, was presented by means of a street play by a group of young artists, today evening at Fateh Sagar Lake.

‘Yamraj on Leave’ – a satire to demonstrate the present crises in the country, was presented by means of a street play by a group of young artists, today evening at Fateh Sagar Lake.

Under the banner of Natyansh, a group that has been indulging in promoting Theatre Art, more than 10 young artists enthralled the audience by their superlative performance.

The recent crisis in Uttrakhand, the terror attack at Bodhgaya and other problems like corruption and caste based politics were articulated through the play.

Story revolves around how Yamraj, who is on leave after 100 years checks the condition of India and feels depressed.  The play has been written by Ashfaq Noor Khan Pathan and Abdul Mubeen Khan Pathan whereas the direction was given by Natyansh.

At the end of the performance, the participants paid homage to the dead in the Uttrakhand mishap by keeping a 2 minute silence and also prayed for the departed soul of legendry actor Pran who passed away a few weeks back.

Artists that performed in ‘Yamraj on Leave’ are – Mohak Ahuja, Mukul Talreja, Shlok Pimplekar, Shubham Sharma, Gulshan Kataria, Mridul Gameti, Varsha Ahari, Khushnuma Mansoori, Mohammad Rizwan, Ashfaq Noor Khan Pathan and Abdul Mubeen Khan Pathan.
