Gayatri’s life ‘Patjhad’ enacted on stage
The Little Thespian Theater Group from Kolkata performed ‘Patjhad’ based on Tennessee Williams’ story at Shilpgram’s Darpan Auditorium on Sunday.
The Little Thespian Theater Group from Kolkata performed ‘Patjhad’ based on Tennessee Williams’ story at Shilpgram’s Darpan Auditorium on Sunday.
Rangshala, organized by West Zone Cultural Center every month showcased Ust. M. Azhar Alam’s directed ‘Patjhad’; the story of Gayatri Pradhan and her middle class family in Darjeeling. The story revolves around children of Gayatri- son Indraveer, the poet with artistic streak and daughter Yamini who has a defective leg and plays with her toys.
The play encapsulated humanistic emotions, family bond, negative & positive vibes. The audience were tied to the dialogues and swiftly flowed with the story.
The actors who enacted the play were Uma Jhunjhunwala (Gayatri), Sagar Sengupta (Indraveer), Heena Parvez (Yamini) and Shayan Sarkar (Tashin).
