Udaipur Ghoomar Festival 2025: Free Workshop Nov 13-17

Udaipur, Nov 13, 2025 - Rajasthan’s folk culture and a symbol of women’s empowerment, the Ghoomar Festival 2025 is now ready to bring vibrant colours to Udaipur. A free training workshop is being organised by the Tourism Department for participants.

According to Sumita Saroch, Joint Director of the Tourism Department, Ghoomar dance training sessions will be held from November 13 to 17 for registered members at Udaipur Nagar Nigam’s  Pandit Deendayal Auditorium, from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. This will be followed by a rehearsal on November 18 at the Bhandari Darshak Mandap. The main event will take place on November 19.

Saroch also informed that participants who have not registered but wish to take part in the festival can register on the site.

Notably, on the initiative of Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari, the State Government will celebrate the festival simultaneously in all seven divisional headquarters of Rajasthan on Saturday, November 19. On this occasion, the Ghoomar dance will be presented on stage with new energy and enthusiasm. In Udaipur, the festival poster has already been released.

Various social organisations, women’s associations and cultural clubs have expressed keen interest in participating in the Ghoomar Festival. The festival aims to bring Rajasthan’s traditional folk culture to the younger generation and connect women with their cultural identity.

Participants will include girls and women above 12 years of age, housewives, members of self-help groups and students of dance schools and colleges.

Registration is being done in two categories – Individual and Group. In the Group category, there will be a minimum of 20 and a maximum of 25 members. For this purpose, special help desks have been set up at the divisional offices of the Tourism Department, where participants are being assisted with registration and guidelines.
