One of the most important events of a student’s life is the graduation day. On 23rd December, the students of Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture & Technology collected their degrees from Governor Kalyan Singh at the 9th Convocation Ceremony held at Vivekanand Auditorium.
At the ceremony, 22 gold medals, 31 PhD, 160 graduation and 606 post graduation degrees were handed over. Two students received the Jain Irrigation medal.
In his speech, Kalyan Singh emphasized that agriculture is the backbone of the country and it is imperative for it to grow exponentially through usage of technology and innovative means. “Development of villages is the foundation on which the urban growth takes place. We need to understand this cycle of dependency of urban and rural through which each side will receive benefits,” he said.
The ceremony commenced with welcome speech by Vice Chancellor, MPUAT Prof Parmendra Kumar Dashora. He highlighted the achievements, activities and upcoming schemes in details.
The event was presided over by MLSU’s Vice Chancellor Prof IV Trivedi, Tribal University’s Vice Chancellor TC Damor, AK Pandey, Dean of colleges, academicians, HoDs, researchers, administrative officers and students.
