The festival dedicated to spiritual and academic teachers, Guru Purnima was celebrated with immense devotion across Udaipur today. A number of religious events such as Hawan and Yagya were organized in various temples across city.

In religious activities, devotees in large numbers visited temples to greet spiritual heads and priests by offering flowers and touching their feet.

On the occasion, a Hawan was also organized at Shiv temple of Ashok Nagar with several devotes participating. A large number of devotees also visited Asthal Mandir, where pandit Raas Bihari Chatruvedi was greeted for the day.

It is believed that on this day Maharshi Ved Vyas, had completed Chatur Veda viz. Rig, Yazur, Sama and Athar.
