To encourage cycling as a mode of transport, a Cycle Marathon ‘Harawal-3’ was organized today where 150 people participated. The 45km rally began from MLSU and ended at Fateh Sagar.

Many social organizations of the city supported the event. Among participants, differently-abled people from Jaipur also took part in the marathon.

Manish Kataria, coordinator of Udaipur Volunteers informed, “Udaipurites who are passionate for cycling excitedly joined the marathon. Many foreign tourists also paddled with other cyclists.”

During the marathon, several check posts were installed that offered organic snacks to the cyclists. Manish Jain of Shikshantar and Mohammad Rizwan Mansoori of Natyansh specially contributed in making the event successful.

The participants pledged to contribute in making Udaipur pollution free and to choose bicycle as the only source of transport for at least once a week.
