Hariyali Amavasya mela to be registered with Guinness Book
Hariyali Amavasya mela must get an entry into the Guinness Book of World Records.
Hariyali Amavasya mela is one-of-its-kind-fair which probably no other country of the world has. Efforts are on to have this historic fair registered in the Guinness Book of World Records. Municipal Corporation of Udaipur is trying to have this grand fair registered in the Guinness Book. The fair that celebrates the Shravan or the savan (monsoon) month is unique as it has a special day for women only. Women gather in this fair in large numbers and the colours of festivity can be seen during this day. Rajasthan seems to be at its beauty with a variety of colours, fun and frolic and where women enjoy in their own way. Rural and urban women love this day and the mass collection of females as seen in this mela is probably not seen anywhere else throughout the globe.
Since this is a “women only” fun day, efforts are being made to give it a worldwide recognition through the Guinness Book. Once this happens, Mewar region will get a new dimension and this is likely to increase tourism in a new way.
