A complimentary health check-up exclusively for doctors is going to be conducted this year for Doctor’s Day (1st July 2011) by Aravali Hospital, Udaipur.

 

A complimentary health check-up exclusively for doctors is going to be conducted this year for Doctor’s Day (1st July 2011) by Aravali Hospital, Udaipur.

This special observance is intended to show the gratitude and appreciation of Udaipur’s public toward its doctors for their dedicated services over the years.

Health Check-ups for Doctors on Doctor's Day

Health check-ups will start from morning 7 and will continue till 10 AM at two different venues: Aravali Hospital, Ambamata and the Aravali Path Labs at M.B Hospital. All the medical reports of the check-up will be delivered to doctors’ residences.

The check-up will consist of six different types of tests: CBC+ESR (Haemogram), tests for diabetes/blood sugar (fasting), tests for liver disease (SGOT, SGPT, bilirubin, alkaline, proteins etc.), tests for heart disease (triglycerides, cholesterol, HDL, LDL, VLDL), tests for kidney disease (urea, creatinine) and for thyroid assay (TSH).

In their busy and hectic schedule, many doctors unintentionally overlook the regular health check-ups of their own. The Doctor’s Day on 1st July is originated by honoring the legendry doctor (physician) and second chief minister of West Bengal Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy. Later, the day was celebrated as Doctor’s Day in India. There is however, no fancy celebrations or events happens on this day. Instead, there is a silent and calm program on the personal level such thanking or greeting doctors.

Udaipur has nearly 700 doctors serving in various governments and non-government organizations.
