The colorful festival of Holi welcomes the arrival of spring and is celebrated all over India with great enthusiasm. The Lalit Suri Hospitality Group under its “Unified Celebrations of India” initiative commemorated “Holi Parv” at The Lalit Laxmi Vilas Palace Udaipur.
The Lalit Suri Hospitality Group organized a special package for their guests to celebrate Holi – Rajasthani style.
In order to promote Indian Railways, the second largest network in the world, the group launched a special 3-day package including a luxurious train journey from Delhi to Udaipur, wherein guests experienced the romance of train travel. Two special coaches dedicated to The Lalit were customized to suit the guests’ needs and reflected the ‘Limitless Hospitality’ ethos of The Group.
The festivities for Holi at Udaipur commenced on 6th March, 2012 with traditional welcome and Aarti, followed by local sightseeing. The guests enjoyed traditional Rajasthani dinner at the hotel lawns facing Fateh Sagar, dancing to the tunes of folk singers and enjoyed a Kathak dance performance by renowned danseuse Pragati Sood Anand.
The festivities will continue the next day with a visit to the famous temples – Nathdwara and Ekling Ji. On the eve of Holi, guests will take part in special Holika Dahan (bonfire), which marks the victory of good over evil.
On Holi morning, guests will gather to play ‘Holi’ by smearing each other with dry and wet herbal colors and flower petals- all in a spirit of great solidarity and good natured bonhomie.
