Mewar Darshan Gallery Park was destined to have an inaugural function on Saturday. The gallery at Fatehsagar lake side was awaiting 3 statues of the city’s renowned personalities.

Statues of Janardan Rai Nagar, Mohan Singh Mehta and Daulat Singh Kothari were to be inaugurated coming Saturday i.e. 16th June. These statues were to be inaugurated by Home Minister Gulab Chand Kataria but the programme was reportedly deferred.

As per sources,it was declared that the programme of inauguration on Saturday stands cancelled as the statues which were suppose to reach Udaipur by 10th June have not yet reached. The statues are being made in Jaipur and final touch is yet to be given to them. 3 pedestals have already been placed in the park for the placement of these statues.

Mayor Kothari said that 16th June happens to be Maharana Pratap Jayanti. A number of people gather at Moti Magri and Fatehsagar lakeside stays crowded every year on this day. Administration had guessed that the inauguration ceremony would become cumbersome with too much of public. The statues might reach Udaipur by Thursday 14th June. Inaugural ceremony will then be finalised.
