Inmates Celebrate Independence Day

The Sarv Dharm Maitri Sangh organized a cultural event today afternoon for inmates at Central Jail under the series of events on the occasion of the 65th Independence Day of India.

Chief Guests at today’s program were Mushtaq Chanchal, Poet; Sandeep Singathvadia and Father Norbert, Organizing Director of the event.

The event started with prayers and a devotional song and Mushtaq Chanchal also recited a poem on Independence Day.

Students from various institutions including Vrinda Jain of St. Mary’s School spoke on Communal Harmony; Pushp Giri sang a patriotic song and Gulnaaz of Universal School along with Naman Singhal, St. Gregorios School presented a speech titled – Mere Sapno ka Bharat.

There were dance, singing and dialogue performances by members and students and inmates warmly welcomed the generosity of the event. Refreshments were served to inmates by the association members.

The Jail Superintendent delivered his speech followed by Mushtaq Chanchal’s address to the inmates.

Thanksgiving was done by Father Norbit by singing religious hymns and our National Anthem.
