According to Ravindra Shrimali, Secretary, Rath Samiti, the ‘Rath’ is made out of wood coated with thick layer of silver which needs to be polished every year. Shrimali also added that since it is divided into 110 parts it takes around a week’s time for the cleaning and annual maintenance.
