Kashmiri Food Festival At Laxmi Vilas Palace

The Lalit Laxmi Vilas is organizing a “Kashmiri Food Festival” from 6th to 14th of November, 2010. The venue for this festival couldn’t get any better as it is being held at Aangan Lawn, opposite Fateh Sagar Lake.

While the timings for the same are between 7.30 p.m. to 11.30 p.m., all nine days, the entry fee per person per day is Rs. 900. Buffet system with total 14 varieties of food, from starters to main course, including both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes await each visitor.

In November, saffron is harvested in Kashmir and is festival time for the complete week. However, due to deteriorating tourism sector, this festival is now spreading in other parts of the country thereby giving Kashmiris an opportunity to showcase their culinary diversity.

Mr. Mahendra Rawat , Food and Beverage Manager at Lalit Laxmi Niwas said, “This initiative will attract tourists and will enhance interest of Local residents towards food cuisines. Cooks are invited specially from Kahsimir to restore original taste and touch to Kashmiri cuisines”. The radio partner for this event is My FM.

In the past Lalit Laxmi Vilas has also organized many culinary events such as Punjabi Food Festival, Delhi Special Dishes in Garba Fest, Rajasthani Food Festival and many more.
