The statue of Dr. DS Kothari was inaugurated at Mohanlal Sukhadiya University campus today at 9AM by Gulabchand Kataria and Arjun Lal Meena.

Dr. DS Kothari was a well-known senior scientist and was praised for his contributions to Science. He also served as the Vice Chancellor at Delhi University and as President of UGC.

Padma Bhushan was conferred on him in 1962, and the Padma Vibhushan in 1973. He was also listed as a “Proud Past Alumni” by the “Allahabad University Alumni Association. In 2011, the Department of Posts issued a commemorative stamp in his honour.

The statue was completed one month back and the Bhoomi Poojan for the same was done by Ashok Gehlot in 2013. UIT provided the financial support for this project where the statue was constructed in the University campus with Ashthdhatu.
