Kumbhalgarh Festival 2014 Begins
The 8th annual cultural event of Kumbhalgarh Festival 2014 started yesterday on 28th January with much fervor. Besides various traditional dances, music and art, the festival also includes various competitions for the foreign and local tourists.
The 8th annual cultural event of Kumbhalgarh Festival 2014 started yesterday on 28th January with much fervor. Besides various traditional dances, music and art, the festival also includes various competitions for the foreign and local tourists.
The program started at 11am with dance of Aangi by the artists from Barmer. Thereafter tourists enjoyed dance of Chakri by artists of Baran. The event continued with humorous presentation by ‘Bahurupiya’ artists from Bandhi Kui.
All administrative officers from Rajsamand and Kumbhalgarh were present on the occasion. The program was inaugurated by Govind Singh Ranawat, administrative officer and Madhav Darak, Poet.
The first half of the festival also witnessed various competitions like tying pagri, tug of war, mehendi, rangoli etc. in which the foreign tourists participated.
In evening, the dance of Bharatanatyam by Priya Venkatraman enthralled the audiences. She beautifully presented the characteristics of Lord Krishna and Radha.
