Two plays of well-known writer Padmshri Balwant Gargi - Kunwari Chotti and Ghat Ki Naav were staged at Rangshala, Shilpgram last evening.

Two plays of well-known writer Padmshri Balwant Gargi were staged at Rangshala, Shilpgram last evening.

These plays were the part of monthly program of Rangshala where different plays are staged for interested audience.

First play ‘Kunwari Chotti’ was the story about a young girl ‘Chandi’ who aims to leave her village and the monotonous lifestyle that comes with it.  She refuses the proposal of her friend ‘Bhairo’ and instead accepts to go along with a young mountaineer accepting his proposal and moving to the city.

Another play, ‘Ghat ki Naav’ narrates the ups and downs of a relationship with a love triangle.  The main female lead is married to ‘Surjeet’ but for a while inclines towards his friend ‘Manjhi’.  Coming to know this ‘Surjeet’ leaves her and the play revolves around how everyone manages the situation and takes a turn when ‘Surjeet’ returns.

Audience thoroughly enjoyed the performances and artists were felicitated with a garlanding ceremony after the plays.
