Department of Sanskrit, University College of Social Sciences and Humanities (UCSSH), organized a lecture on the Contemporary Importance of Ram Katha, at their conference hall today.

Prof. K Rajlakshmi, Ex President, Purna Pragya Sanshodhan Mandal, Bangalore was the chief speaker of the program. She expressed her views on Ram Katha and shared her experiences of Ramayana in various languages like Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayam.

She spoke on, ‘how Ram Katha has different expressions in different languages and how languages play an important role in delivering the same Ramayana to different people in various regions’.

I. V. Trivedi, Vice Chancellor, MLSU, was the chief guest for the occasion. He said, “These types of lectures are very beneficial for the students as they create awareness of the hidden or rather unexplored aspects of knowledge”.
