A significant lecture on ‘The Sociology of Sanitation’ was organized yesterday by Dr Mohan Singh Mehta Memorial Trust at Vidhya Bhawan auditorium where the Chief Guest and the Chief Speaker was the Famous Sociologist and Social Reformer, well known as the founder of Sulabh Sanitation Movement, Dr. Bindeshwar Pathak.

In his erudite address, Dr. Pathak proposed ‘Sociology of Sanitation’ as one of the disciplines to be included in the study of Sociology so as to help solve general problems related to sanitation, water, social deprivation, public health, hygiene, poverty and for overall sustainable development.

He told his life story and several anecdotes that gave him directions and made him what he is today. In his interesting and motivating speech, he spoke about the morality, ethics, social values, love, affection, motivation, progress, leadership and the importance of sanitation.

In the end, he thanked the Trust, all the guests and audience for inviting and listening to him.

It must be acknowledged that Dr. Pathak has worked a lot for the poor, unprivileged and general public in the field of sanitation and equality. His social work has been highly praised by several organizations, leaders and governments’ world over.
